THis is a new top I just finished. It was inspired by This image. and is my first use of non-latex and non-sipper materials in a piece.
It came off altogether better than I had hoped it would for a first attempts, although I still have some issues with it. I am having a difficult time creating clean hems/edges which is leading me to understand why I see so many other latex fabricators simply 'edging' a garment with a strip of another color to reinforce their edges instead of creating true hem lines.
Anyway, this piece is made of double-sided red/black 0.4mm latex from MJ Trends and 3" steel rings.
It is fully reversible, being black with hints of red inside or red with black trim and a black interior.
It is seen here on my dress-form set to a 30" waist and a 37 1/2 " bust.
If I were to consider wearing that, I would cringe at the metal and my spine in such close proximity!
Let me suggest that you use the old fashioned and very smexy technique of lacing .. lacing can be open, or brought together for a closed look, or allow a placket to show underneath.
Place the RINGS .. I know they are part of the plot ... akin to or beside the lacing, or let them suspend over the placket .. like planets over the great rift! The small of the back comes to mind. for a collection of 3 rings like the old atomic symbol.
Or the rings could be down the sides .. between a laced back, and an equally intriguing front?
