This is my most recent fabrication. It is an ankle-length skirt with a long cut out of the side which I set grommets in either side of and ran several short lengths of chain through. A side zip makes getting in and out easier ( I would assume) and a tiny splash of red at the top of the side slit.
Constructed using 0.4 mm black latex and a strip of 0.4 mm red 1 latex, all from MJ Trends. The zipper is a standard plastic/nylon, 8" zipper with reinforcing on all sides. The skirt is fully hemmed and sports a length of cotton tape down either side of the slit that is designed to act as both reinforcement for the grommets and to add weight to keep the edges of the skirt down where they belong while moving about.
My only real regret with this piece is that I ran into a snag on Sunday that made it take some extra time to complete, which means it didn't get into the hands of the model that is shooting my stuff this coming weekend.
On the good side, it took less than 8 hours of total work (that's counting gluing/curing time, so actual labor was even less than that).
Comments/thoughts/feedback is greatly appreciated!
Most of my photos are taken with my iPhone, which is pretty crappy for this sort of thing especially. I should have some professional shots with a lot of these newer items soon though. Hopefully next week!
